DIY: FLORAL & WASHI TAPE BACKDROP

Nothing makes me happier than fresh flowers and washi tape, so bringing these two together is a sure-fire way to make me smile!  Last week we shared this pretty pixie pink party from Claire Graham Photography, and we loved the floral photobooth backdrop so much we asked her to share the how-to with us this week. I love this so much I might just have to plan a party so we can test it out…

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Mixed flowers (fresh or faux)
  • Masking tape or washi tape
  • Sharp scissors or florists knife

METHOD:

The beauty about this is you can use any flowers you want, you can visit your local florist and make a selection or pick apart a pre-made bouquet! On this occasion I picked a pre-made pink bouquet from my local florist which contained the prettiest blooms all ready to go!

Prep your flowers by trimming the stems to the required size and remove the leaves. Although on a few of the flowers, I left one or two.

Then start taping the flowers to the wall with masking tape or washi tape, for an extra-pretty look.

Grab your photobooth props, and have some fun!  This would also be a lovely backdrop to a dessert display, wedding ceremony or perhaps just to pretty up a blank wall when you’re next entertaining in lieu of a floral centrepiece?

TOP TIP:

Float any extra flower heads in a bowl filled with water so you can enjoy them for a little longer!!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
