INTERIOR TREND: SERENITY & ROSE QUARTZ
Every year I eagerly await Pantone’s Colour of the Year announcement, and after last year’s slight disappointment over Marsala (ok, I’ll admit we grew to love it) I was excited to see what the colour specialists thought would be hot in 2016. Their choice of two colours this year threw many of us, but I couldn’t be more pleased with them; serenity – a calm and serene pale blue, and rose quartz – a soft blush pink with oodles of romance. Needless to say, we’re huge fans of these pretty pastel shades at B.LOVED HQ, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them to create some inspiration for you this month!
I’m sure this romantic palette will inspire a whole heap of weddings this year, and that puts a huge smile on my face, but it’s interiors where my intrigue for this combination really lies. The beautifully feminine rose quartz is perfectly balanced by the subtle masculinity of serenity – a perfect marriage for a couple’s home. Together, the shades create a calm and peaceful atmosphere and would work well in any room of your home. I’m thinking unashamedly girly bathrooms and bedrooms, with serenity adding contrast and guy-friendly tones to you living, dining and kitchen areas.
These shades work beautifully with a mix of textures too; marble topped tables, metallic copper details and a touch of soft velvet and faux-fur adds to the elegant luxe look.
We love it, do you?
