UNDERSTATED FESTIVE FASHION
Is it just me, or is anyone else counting down the minutes until Christmas…?
I’m not usually this excited, this early but I’ve started sneaking out one or two decorations everyday since November! You may also remember we were updating our hallway for the festive season – well it’s done and I’ve been totally suckered into making the house super pretty! Full tour coming soon I promise.
But as well as the house, I’m also thinking about my sartorial choices for the season. I love to pre-plan my festive fashion, mostly so that I don’t have a tantrum throwing things in a pile and announcing I have nothing to wear/nothing fits me. It helps all involved to be totally honest.
So let’s start with Christmas Eve – we usually head out for dinner with the family, so this year I’m going to throw on a simple dress that has enough room for me to indulge in a cocktail or two and a scrummy pud! The Willow Dress by Hush is perfect; with a drop waist it’s an easy-to-wear silhouette and the heavy knit makes it feel luxe. I’ll be pairing this with my Jess Boots, opaque tights, a slick of Charlotte Tilbury’s Glastonberry Lipstick and some amazing Lulu Frost earrings. I managed to grab a pair of these before they sold out but you’ll find lots of other delectable festive jewels on offer. Be warned, you’ll want everything!
Christmas Day is all about loungewear! But I do want to feel a little bit special, so I’ve treated myself to some gorgeous Cashmere pieces. I died when I first slipped into these Cashmere Tweed Joggers; comfort overload and I had to have them! I did however wait for the Black Friday discounts and managed to save 20% off the price, and snagged this gorgeous Cashmere Ribbed Jumper too. Still a sizeable amount to swallow and I do break out in a cold sweat if I think about it too much but hell, it’s the month to spend right…? Right…?
We live very close to the sea and as we’re spending this Christmas at home we’ll no doubt be heading down to the seafront to take in that fresh air before we feast, drink and suffocate ourselves with a mass of glittering candles whilst watching bad Christmas TV. So for the little outing, I’ll be chucking on my Stan Smiths and a Knitted Hat.
I’m the Sous Chef in the kitchen so my jobs will mainly be chopping, tidying and keeping the bubbles topped up. But to make sure there are no spillages on THE CASHMERE I’ll be donning my Toast Linen Apron. I love this apron and I always feel like I’ve stepped out from the pages of Kinfolk wearing it. Although the ladies pictured are usually carrying swathes of foliage, not swigging eggnog.
Now off you run kids, shop the edit! You’re all on the nice list I’m sure and totally deserve a treat or two… See you on the other side.
