#138: pastel geometrics

Happy Monday readers! What an absolutely beautiful wintery weekend we’ve had! The brilliant blue skies and a lovely crisp chill in the air were a welcome relief from the non-stop rain and grey that has loomed for the past few weeks.  But no matter what’s going on out there, you’ll always find a little sunshine on b.loved! Today is no exception as we embrace a few of this year’s brighter wedding trends in our Monday moodboard using Pantone’s colour of the year Radiant Orchid, teamed with glamorous gold and a pop of contemporary coral using modern geometrics as a crisp and clean motif.

For contemporary couples this is a great theme to weave throughout the details of your day – whether you use regular shapes like triangles and hexagons or more irregular gem-like shapes – this look is bang on trend.  I love the way these purple gem-shaped invites pop against a bright coral background and guests are treated to a keepsake stone too!  Simple shapes adorning signage, table plans and place settings, and rough cut tissue paper confetti are all easy DIY details, and for the little more adventurous how about making geometric runners for your reception tables?  Pick flowers with strong forms – succulents, cockscomb, orchids, calla lilies, chrysanthemums and dahlias are all great choices and contrast with soft textures – roses, peonies and ranunculus.  Keep arrangements slick and modern using just one type of flower per display, or mix things up for a slightly looser, relaxed look.

Oh, and of course I couldn’t resist this pooch!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
