WEDDINGS

Beautiful barn wedding

Morning my loves!  I’m literally jumping with excitement to share today’s wedding as I finally get the chance to feature the work of one of my favourite UK wedding photographers, Anushé Low on b.loved for the very first time!  Her clean, contemporary and pretty photography style is the perfect match for any b.loved bride, and she’s just the loveliest person to have around on your wedding day too..  Isabel & Ferdinand tied the knot in a quintessentially English country church, followed by a reception in a beautiful barn set in the beautiful Somerset countryside.  It’s all about the style for Isabel, whose gorgeous David Fielden gown steals the show for me – just love that bow detail. Oh, and the super cute matching bow detail on her bouquet by Flowers by Passion too!

Choosing the location for our wedding was easy. When we first met, my family lived in the beautiful historic village of Norton St Philip, which is just a few miles outside Bath (Somerset, UK). We spent much of our first summer together here, and its beauty and peace made it a perfect choice for our wedding ceremony. The village has a beautiful 13th century church (St Philip and St James) and a 14th century pub called The George Inn (it claims to be Britain’s oldest tavern) where all our friends and family gathered on the eve of the wedding for celebratory drinks. Our reception was held in nearby Wick Farm – a former threshing barn.

We were inspired by everything from the natural beauty of rural Somerset with its village life and medieval buildings through to the decadence of Paris (where Ferdy proposed), wanders around Versailles, scent of pink roses and peonies and the elegance of a Laduree macaron tower!  Add to this our desire to reflect our happy childhoods and close families, and our wish to make sure the day was inclusive and great fun for all our friends and family.  In memory of my Grandma, we used her collection of cut glass vases and had 5 arrangements per table. We bought our flowers from Bristol flower market, the day before the wedding which was an adventure unto itself! Both our Mums, sisters and bridesmaids spent a memorable Friday afternoon arranging the flowers and setting them out on each of the tables. It was a very calming and creative way to spend the afternoon!

We were also lucky enough to have a hugely talented illustrator as our maid of honour (Izzy’s sister, Chloe Regan),a mother of the bride who is a professional jeweller (Fran Regan Jewellery), a few star DJ-ing friends (including Ferdy’s cousin Ted Lovett), and the then President of the British Beekeepers Association (Ferdy’s Dad, Tim Lovett) who provided the beautiful (and delicious) honey pot wedding favours. Including our network of talented friends in the day made it supremely inclusive!  Driving away from the church in a Porsche 356SC, lent to us by Ferdy’s Dad was the first moment we had together as a married couple, and we were both so exhilarated! Knowing all the fun that was to come later in the day, and having just a few minutes of snatched time to take in the overwhelming service and the sheer joy of seeing all our family and friends around us was unforgettable.

If you’re looking for a way to enter into the spirit of your most perfect day, we think that Anushe deserves a medal for capturing this so perfectly!  It’s so wonderful to look at our photos and be transported back to that glorious day – you can almost smell the beautiful flowers, taste the Champagne, hear the raucous laughs generated by the speeches, and feel the energy and happiness that we were surrounded by, and were exuding. The photos tell it all.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
