FOR THE LOVE OF SPERRY (& TEEPEES)
Calling all boho brides! Dreaming of getting wed under canvas? I popped alont to the Papa Kata wedding open weekend recently, and OH MY, what a fabulous way to experience what a teepee might be like! Nestled in the beautiful countryside in York, the Papa Kata team put on an impressive display with their Sperry sailcloth tent + Teepee tents which were fully decorated, both with different looks providing inspiration for beautiful tent weddings!
The Sperry was light and bright and adorned with amazing flowers by Lucy MacNicoll. She had chosen ruffled roses, big dhalias, hydrangea, lush pinks and oranges and the arrangements varied from smaller arrangements to large centrepieces. One of our favourites- a black Bohemian style screen behind the main table with flowers trailing across the top! Complimenting this was a pretty cake by Tala Mayamey which looked like handpainted flowers along the icing and topped with very realistic looking pink icing flowers.
We met the Hog + Apple team who had created an awesome catering stand for the event! It was a very industrial vintage and really innovative – so was their food! The dishes were works of art and even the desserts were finished with a pretty flower. We loved their array of serving trays, boards and dishes and imagine that their events are spectacularly presented!
The huge Teepee tent was fantastic to look at from outside, the shape against the countryside setting, the material, the lanterns leading you to the entrance – and it was so exciting inside! We didn’t know where to start first! There were cosy nooks based around huge fires which smelt delightful, truly I wish we could have bottled it! Fairylights and hanging tealights created a magical ambience and it was a much darker, cosy, enchanting atmosphere that the light airy Sperry Sailcloth tent.
Foliage & Blossom had worked their magic throughout the Teepees and again was super creative! Along one bench was an overhead display with long stems + colourful blooms reaching out whilst crystal tealights hung below! Another long table held lots of lanterns sat aside smaller arrangements of mis-matched style bottles holding colourful flowers and even long feathers! This theme was carried through to a collection of paper lanterns hung from above in the peak of the TeePee, with long streams of ribbon, bright blooms and feathers!
