Sarah & Charlie’s blooming beautiful wedding
Happy Wednesday wedding lovers! I’m exhausted but happy after an amazing day with the students and team at The Editorial Wedding yesterday! I can’t wait to share the results of the shoot, which will be featured somewhere special, but for now you’ll just have to take my word for it was a riot of colour, glitter, sequins and stripes!
This morning I have a super sweet country wedding to share with you brides, with such a beautiful heart. Sarah & Charlie said their vows at Hill Place, a venue with a special sentimental meaning having been Charlie’s family home for many years. And such a beautiful wedding venue it is! Sarah picked a pretty palette of sage, pink and lavender for their garden-inspired celebration, with roses and lavender adding a fresh floral touch. She makes the most beautiful bride in her stunning Pronovias dress, which neatly conceals her baby bump! Such a special time to get married, and you’ll be happy to hear Sarah and Charlie are now proud parents to a beautiful daughter. Awww.
Thank you to Helen Cawte for the beautiful photography.
Here’s Sarah with their story ~
Charlie and I met at College studying Graphic design. He proposed on the beach where he asked me out on, on our 5 year anniversary.
My dress was a Pronovias from Anya bridal and it was special because it covered my 6 month pregnant belly with out having to be altered or have the size changed!! I wore a diamond hair clip that was borrowed from Charlie’s family and diamond earings that were a present from Charlie’s Mother. My hair had to be up with the focus on the hair clip and my make-up had to be natural and what I would normally look like. My shoes were John Lewis and lasted an hour until I sneaked on my ballet pumps on! We chose the bridesmaid dresses from Coast and the colour was the base of our wedding.
We got married at Hill Place, in Swanmore and it is special to us as its Charlie’s family home that has been transformed into a wedding venue.
We took our inspiration from previous weddings at the house that we had seen out of window from when we used to live in the house, and wedding magazines. We wanted a vintage French theme with natural flowers, and chose a sage, green, pale pink and lavender colour palette. It was all about the flowers and lighting, we had fairy lights in the vases and starlight above the dance floor. The marquee also had views of the house lit up and the bonfire.
Our photographer was the amazing Helen Cawte. It turned out she was a bridesmaid at her sisters wedding at Hill Place the weekend after we made contact, so we met her as we lived at the house then! She has since she has captured all our special moments, including our beautiful daughter.
What was your favourite moment?
The wedding was brought forward due to the pregnancy and although we had our dream day we had to cut back on a few areas, but Charlie surprised me and took me to the roof of the house and we had a firework display which had always been my dream and when we looked down all our guest were on the lawn waving sparklers to us, it looked amazing. He had planed the whole thing as a massive surprise for me
What was your first dance song?
We had John Mayer’s ‘Slow Dancing in a Burning Room‘
Is there anything you’d do differently now, or do you have any advice for other couples?
Our wedding was amazing due to finding the right suppliers our food was fantastic, the venue and marquee looked amazing and the day was made by the band and the fantastic music that got everyone dancing all night. Our main advice is follow your heart and your head, and have the day you want!
