WEDDINGS

A TOUCH OF FROST

There is nothing like a bit of winter wedding inspiration to warm the cockles of your heart. Today’s inspiration shoot shows that you don’t have to overcomplicate your winter wedding style to produce a look that wows.

I’ve fallen head over heels for the understated glamour…that cape, the plunging neckline, the combination of delicate soft green and silver hues…. the list is endless.

Photographer Sophie Stimpson not only captured the magic but created it herself as the stylist of the shoot – so make sure you head on through to the end to hear all about the inspiration behind this beautiful winter style…

My Inspiration for this rustic winter wedding shoot was the beautiful outdoors, and how beautiful and natural it looks despite the season we’re in. The location I chose was perfect for what I was hoping to achieve in this shoot…nature with a perfect Festive colour palette of greens, whites and greys/silvers (my favourite colours).

I personal love shooting in natural light and creating stunning images with very little retouching. I enjoy styling just as much as I love photography and I was so pleased I could show both of my passions in this shoot.

I love how intimate this shoot looks with the couple enjoying some quality time in the stunning gardens of this 16th century cottage with the local Geese and ducks as our witnesses. The whole look of the wedding was created with the cottage in mind.

I wanted to choose a simple/stylish look for the wedding attire to show that non-traditional weddings work just as well and give your wedding your very own personal touch. I loved pairing the dress with a warm cape and knitted scarf to snuggle into.

Future brides and wedding suppliers can recreate this look themselves by sticking to a natural colour palette along with simple stylish and warm attire.

Keeping the colours simple and festive meant we could focus our attention on the couple and the details in the shoot such as the amazing cake decorated with the luxury silk ribbon. A wintery wedding wouldn’t be complete without some cosy blankets to snuggle up with and some warm beverages to keep your guests merry.
