Grecian Beauty Styled Shoot
I daren’t count how many times I’ve revisited the beautiful images from this shoot. Captured by fine art photographer Bowtie & Belle, and a team of creative suppliers from the Cotswolds, you’d never believe this shoot took place in the UK. Yet it did, in the very beautiful grounds of Birtsmorton Court. Filled with a light, dreamy airiness and elegant simplicity you’ll be transported to the olive groves of Greece in the blink of an eye…
We were inspired by the beautiful summer, embracing the outdoors to create a relaxed fine art styled shoot. We wanted this to encompass a celebration of bridal beauty. With light imagery and the simplicity of classic Grecian styling we hope to demonstrate to couples how achievable this style is to recreate, and how truly breath taking it can be. Our vision was to create a timeless, romantic feel full of light. It was important that it didn’t look too put together – from an intimate table setting, with dreamy florals and pretty free-flowing fabrics, it was all about effortless beauty.
We love the lightness and purity associated with Grecian styling, and chose to accompany this with warm earthy tones and soft feminine neutrals. Our concept was to achieve the perfect mix of handpicked traditional Grecian style for the modern bride. We wanted to produce inspiration that could be recreated by brides in the UK to result in an elegant and unique wedding. Birtsmorton Court had the most wonderful secret garden. The details were beautifully in keeping with the shoot theme – towering pillars, stunning wild flowers and an eye catching focal fountain as well as the striking grounds, lakes and wonderful draping willows. Stephanie Saunders took our vision and brought it to life. From the White O’Hara roses, Viburnham berries and olive foliage to the reclaimed terracotta centrepiece pots – it was hard to believe we weren’t in Rhodes or Santorini!
The stunning gown was designed by Chanticleer Bridal. This angelic style, Olympia, from their Blue Ribbon Collection couldn’t have been more perfect! The ballerina style skirt and elegant shape looked beautiful on model Annaliese. To compliment the details on the dress, talented bridal accessory designer Sorrella’s reated some incredible bespoke headpieces. Stylist Sandie from Bella Bridal Hair created a gorgeous chic elegant updo, and make up artist Samantha Davis chose an intense smoky eye with soft pinks. The overall effect was the perfect balance of grace, style and pretty.
The tablescape was set with delicate crockery and beautiful glassware supplied by Lavender & Linen. The look was almost subtle, light and airy. Terracotta pots housing stunning bouquets combined effortlessly with embossed glasses, the simplicity of clear glass candle sticks and classic crockery. Lizzy May Design created a suite of delightful stationary, complete with olive branches. Utilising a wonderful watercolour theme, the soft colours were perfectly in keeping with the style of the shoot. Complimenting the classic lines and clean colour palette, designer Marie Green created a beautifully structured yet simple three tiered cake. To create the ultimate Grecian inspired cake, each tier was delicately adorned with olive branches.
