inspiration board #73: london calling

Morning lovelies! Have you all been soaking up the atmosphere of this first Olympic weekend?  After Friday night’s EPIC opening ceremony the spirit of the games has well and truly come to town, doesn’t it make you so proud to be British?!  I certainly can’t escape the Olympic fever as this week the cycling comes to London and Surrey, almost straight past my front door.  As I type I can hear the helicopters trying to capture the best angles of the action from overhead on the streets around South West London.

With the games finally here, and a reason to celebrate, I thought it was about time I created an inspiration board celebrating the best London has to offer.  With a patriotic colour palette of red, white and blue, the scheme uses iconic images of London as motif’s throughout, from beefeaters and red buses to minis, and of course the stationery is the perfect place to bring in this touch of fun!  I’d love to see our wedding couple in classic style, groom in sophisticated and gentlemanly top hat and tails, and bride with an elegant, beautifully streamlined and silhouetted gown (British designed, of course!). Tables styled with beautiful British-grown blooms, red roses and ranunculus, tulips and anemones with their pop of black in the centre are the perfect match. Union Jack bunting, of course adds a distinctly British twist, hanging in the streets of London perhaps in a park or pub garden?

Are you inspired by British? Go Team GB!!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
