love shoot #53: a secret garden {part 2}

Good Morning everyone!

It might be ‘hump day’ but I have something that just might get you through those midweek blues, Part Two of my styled shoot inspired by a secret garden.  If you missed Part One, where I explained the concept behind the theme and the first look, head on over here now!

For the second look I chose a simple column broderie anglaise dress from Luella’s Boudoir, which was picked up in the decor with lace details and complemented by a pretty country garden themed bouquet of blush pink and ivory roses, gardenia and tiny accents of blue.

I wanted to create a slightly different styled element on the same theme, this time with the crates stacked loosely displaying cakes and treats interspersed with beautiful flowers.

Kim created the most amazing loose and tousled fish-tail braid that tumbled across Claire’s shoulder at the front in a relaxed & informal way, yet looked elegant and refined from the back.  The makeup focussed on the eyes, with a subtle smokey eyeshadow and neutral lips.

At the end of the day, we brought both models together to have some fun! Don’t they look beautiful together?

A great big thank you to all the wondeful suppliers who took part in this shoot!  The friendly team at The Medicine Garden, for allowing us to take over a corner of your paradise for the day, the talented makeup artist Sareta Gabriel and hair stylist Kim Roy for creating the beautiful different looks.  Gardenia of London for providing the flowers, headband, corsage and bouquet and trusting me to style them on the day, the ladies from The Wedding of My Dreams for the containers and props that provided the base for everything to work around and willingly travelling down on the day to deliver everything to us!  Rachel at Luella’s Boudoir for providing the gorgeous gowns, and Charlotte Giles for specially creating the silver and rose, and plum & gold jewellery modelled by the girls. Bonnie Blackbird for designing the lavender themed stationery and cupcake tags. Our two gorgeous models, Caroline and Claire, who looked beautiful and modelled with absolute professionalism.  Finally a huge thank you to Liesl Cheney for taking such beautiful images, and believing in my vision!

On Friday, I’ll be sharing some behind the scenes goings on, and introducing you to all of the wonderful suppliers involved individually!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
