WEDDINGS

love shoot: brighton rocks {kirsten & gary}

Hello my loves!

This afternoon we’re sharing a gorgeous seaside shoot from London-based photographer Blanka Biernat. When Blanka first emailed me with a couple of engagement shoots to feature on b.loved I was immediately taken with her style.  Blanka’s images are crisp and clean with beautiful soft lighting, right up my street!  The cool beachy colours of Kirsten and Gary’s engagement shoot at Brighton Pier, their coordinating outfits and easy smiles make such a pretty shoot!  It’s the perfect pre-cursor to their wedding next year in sunny South Africa!

Here’s Kirsten with their story ~

Gary and I met in London, in 2006, and almost instantly became the best of friends. I recall once, after only knowing Gary a few weeks, telling him not to fall in love with me (as a joke, of course :)) … He didn’t listen ….. I’m glad he didn’t :)  After six years together (some far easier than others), Gary asked me to marry him on 13 November 2011. The way he asks, I always find difficult to explain … so I generally tell people this. I have Three Loves of my life … My Father (like any little gi’rl), Gary and ….. COFFEE (seriously, I’m addicted!)! Well, after many failed attempts at getting me to go to Starbucks … he decided to bring Starbucks to me! On the lid, of my favourite Starbucks coffee, were the words – Will You Marry Me?

Blanka managed to get Gary and I to just relax and have fun with it … we couldn’t have felt more comfortable! When we saw the final edit of the engagement pictures … we (mostly I :)) couldn’t stop talking about them to EVERYONE and I have looked at them everyday since!

We are getting married on 8 March 2013 at a gorgeous venue in Muldersdrift, South Africa. Organising the wedding is great, but I have quickly realised that to make it as stress-free as possible I need to be good at planning and (what I have found the most beneficial) choose a theme and stick with it!!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
