love shoot: sweet california beach engagement {geena & kenny}

Morning lovelies! We’re continuing our beach-y theme just a little longer with this morning’s cute-as-a-button couple’s dreamy California engagement shoot.  Geena and Kenny ventured back to one of their favourite dating spots, the beautiful Cabrillo Beach House, San Pedro, with Sun and Sparrow Photography to capture their romantic & fun shoot.  I love the beautiful surroundings and the cute use of the ampersand prop!

Here’s a few words from the lovely bride-to-be ~

“We met as high school freshmen in speech class at the age of sixteen.  For our first date I asked Kenny to a dance, where we shared our first dance to Savage Garden’s “I Knew I Loved You.” We graduated high school and went to college together at the University of California, Berkeley, rode bikes across the Golden Gate Bridge and raised a stray orange cat named Scribble. Following college, we had a long distance relationship from San Diego and New York and spent our limited time together enjoying the beaches of La Jolla Cove, and Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

The proposal came as a bit of a surprise! I had given Kenny a window but did not know where, when, or how it was going to happen. It was a Saturday late morning. I had just woken up after sleeping in and went to take a shower, nothing special there. When I got out of the shower, wrapped in a towel with dripping hair, I stepped outside the bathroom to see Scribble, who not unusually was waiting for me outside the door. What was unusual was that he was wearing a pink collar (Scribble prefers to be in the nude). Curiosity piqued, I picked him up and noticed something shiny on said collar which turned out to be a diamond ring. By then, Kenny came up to me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so caught off guard that I was briefly speechless, although I think I said yes!”

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
