Magical Bali Elopement

Oh how we are dreaming of beautiful Bali, it’s incredible beaches and lush greenery, a fabulous place not just for a getaway but also for a destination wedding! Perla Photography shares this tropical Bali wedding inspiration along with her advice about why Bali is great for destination weddings, what sort of couples would love to marry their and also tips to consider given the climate!

“This tropical elopement shoot took place in one of the most exclusive and quintessential wedding venues in Bali, the Ayana Resort and Spa! With a spectacular aerial view of Bali’s luscious tropical greenery in the backdrop. The private Ayana Villa provided ample opportunity to capture the romance of Alex and Polina. Polina wore a beautiful hand-made gown designed by Vancouver artisan, Pure Magnolia and her bouquet featured peonies, eucalyptus, eryngium and chamelaucium. It was the perfect mix of fine art with tropical Balinese feel that inspires destination brides-to-be by creating effortless and attainable look.”

What makes Bali such a spectacular place for destination weddings?

It’s breathtaking views! From the lush evergreen rice fields to the unbeatable cliff-top views overlooking crashing waves,Bali is blessed with majestic landscapes and stunning scenery, earning its nickname ‘Land of the Gods’. No matter where on the island, you will be pleased with Bali’s beautiful views and magical backdrop, making itone of the most renownedlocations in the world for destination weddings.

Aside from its stunning views, Bali has an array of incredible resorts and is known for some of the finest and most luxury hotels and resorts in the region, with world-class establishments that can provide premium accommodation for couples and their guests at an affordable price.

Finally, let’s not forget Bali is also considered a prime honeymoon destination in the world, making it an even more attractive location for destination weddings, as couples do not have to fly elsewhere after their wedding to enjoy their honeymoon together. The island offers a showcase of colourful festivals and tourist sites, as well as numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, diving, surfing and snorkelling. Couples can also have the option of hopping on a boat to the nearby islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida or the Gilis islands which many say have the most incredible beaches and prime diving in the area.

What is the climate like in Bali and what should couples consider when getting married in Bali?

Bali has a warm, tropical climate due to its close proximity to the equator. As a result, Bali has an average year-round temperature of about 26-28 °C that makes water temperatures always pleasant for water activities.Best time to travel to Bali is during the dry season, from April to October, when the climate is relatively dry and less humid.

When planning for a destination wedding in Bali, we recommend brides to avoid wearing heavily layered gowns, and instead to consider light-weight and airy fabrics such as silhouette or chiffon that will help keep you cool during the day and sway with the ocean breeze. Lightweight fabrics like chiffon do not wrinkle easily and are easy to steam as well.

What sort of Couples would love Bali for their destination wedding?

Whether you are looking to have a small bohemian-style wedding, an elopement or an opulent ceremony and reception, Bali is the perfect destination for you. While the island offers many smaller, more casual accommodations with low-key vibes, it also has some of the best and finest hotels and professional wedding vendors that will go out of their way to tailor any personalised wedding and honeymoon for you.
