Mhairi & Chris’ Boho Beach Engagement Shoot
Morning! I’ll never get tired of engagement shoots. The joy, the smiles, the love.
Mhairi and Chris’ shoot from Danielle Benbow is perfection. I just love her work, you just have to look at the beauty in this set of images to know she gets it too. The joy, the smiles, the love.
This shoot is calm, peaceful and dreamily romantic. Don’t you just love the daisies in Mhairi’s hair? The touch of boho style is cute and chic. Her colouring is gorgeous, and I love how these two seem to fit so naturally together. They’re adorable!
We met on Valentine’s Day 2009 at a non-Valentine’s Day dinner party thrown by one of our mutual friends. Chris had recently moved to Tunbridge Wells, Kent where I grew up and that was the beginning of our friendship, and then relationship :)
At the end of October 2012 we had booked a weekend away in Oxford and were staying in this beautiful hotel suite. After a beautiful day in the sunshine walking around the Oxford sights we headed back to our hotel. (What was funny is that Chris missed the turning to go back to the hotel because he was so distracted, but I obviously didn’t know why!) As we got outside our hotel room Chris made me close me eyes – he then manoeuvred me into our suite and when I opened my eyes he was on one knee with my gorgeous ring. He had ordered flowers, chocolates and champagne up to the room for beforehand which was really lovely!
We are getting married in the church where I grew up, and was christened in Tunbridge Wells, Kent and then we are having the reception at Chris’ family farm. The whole wedding is Secret Garden theme, as it’s one of my favourite books. Think Victoriana mixed with wild flowers! My favourite colour is yellow, so there are lots of hints from bridesmaid dresses, to table decor. Invitations are all out, so once they are back it will be time to properly sort the table plan! Currently I am planning the Order of Service which is exciting… I am designing and making all the wedding stationery myself, so it is a lot going on in our London flat at the moment – yellow ribbon and miniature keys everywhere! It’s time for logistics planning next, as with having a marquee wedding on a farm there is a lot to take into consideration. However, we have had a food and wine tasting, so at least I know we will be very full of tastiness on the day!
