modern luxe inspiration in teal & gold
Once again, I’m thrilled to be able to share the work of some of my talented industry colleagues with you! Today’s contemporary-styled inspiration shoot was the idea of Elisabetta Cirulli of Linen & Silk Weddings. Originally from Milan, Elisabetta oozes Italian style, favouring elegant, yet modern schemes with clean and minimalist lines. She assembled a brilliant team to bring to life an idea that I am sure will intrigue many of you booking more traditional venues. Just how do you marry opulent, ornate and often heavy interior design with modern wedding design that suits your own contemporary style? The answer; carefully selecting accent colours, combining modern shapes with traditional details, and adding unexpected contemporary touches in just the right places!
The shoot was captured perfectly by b.loved fave Fiona Kelly.

The inspiration behind this photoshoot came about when I visited the location for this shoot, Ranger’s House. This opulent Georgian mansion, housing a rare art collection by Sir Wernher, is often used by mature couples or second marriages. I decided to take on the challenge to show how a younger bride, with an appreciation for traditions and art, could style this venue in a fresh and stylish way, without compromising its integrity. Picking the accent colours of gold and teal from the tones of the main hall, we added modern shapes and touches through the details and styling, briefing the team to create a look for a chic and elegant bride, who loves art but is modern at the same time.
Floral designer and stylist Jodie of Boutique Blooms interpreted the theme with some gorgeous white hydrangea and gypsophila, arranged on bold teal and gold vases. Stationery and décor was created by Katie and Jacqueline at Eagle Eyed Bride, combining modern chevrons and traditional lace with a gold foiled finish to create the perfect stationery suite and matching hanging table plan.
A 5-tiered wedding cake was created by The Abigail Bloom Cake Co, decorated with a hand-painted gold rose and leaves, complimented by a dessert table including teal macarons, edible gold Persian fairy floss and white mint pearls.
The models wore a selection of modern yet timeless dresses from Blackburn Bridal by Clinton Lotter and Sarah Janks. Our ‘Confident Bride’ wore ‘Garbo’ by Clinton Lotter, a strapless Grecian dress with an intricate gold belt. For the bridal bouquets, Jodie and I agreed to explore the option of something colourful, yet modern and non-conventional – she created three bouquets with hydrangea, brunia albaflora & silver tree protea (the silver and green bouquet) and king protea and china grass (the single flower bouquet) which beautifully complemented the three bridal looks we had created
Our ‘Sophisticated Bride’ wore ‘Acacia’ by Sarah Janks with a stunning sheer back.
And our ‘Romantic Bride wears a a timeless spotty tulle dress by Clinton Lotter with an Audrey Hepburn feel, and a sweet hair bow to add a touch of youthfulness. All three looks were styled by hair-stylist Hayley Frances and make up artist Carla Ramsey who worked together to bring to life the vision I had in mind for each of the three looks.
Thanks so much to the whole team for sharing their work! I love the care and attention that has gone into making every detail the perfect inspiration for your own day, and am sure some of you will be recreating some of Elisabetta’s ideas on your own big day!
