Woohoo, it’s Friday!! What are your plans for the weekend? I’m getting into major scheduling mode to prepare the next couple of weeks posts as I’m off to France next week with Anneli and a team of wonderful wedding folk, styling a shoot at a beautiful new wedding venue!  I’m really excited about this one, not just because it’s in France and a chance for a little weekend away, but it’s going to be full of details you can easily recreate for your own big day.

Speaking of which, back in the Autumn I was asked by Wedding Magazine to style a Rainbow themed lifestyle shoot for their November / December issue.  We had a lot of fun creating some colourful wedding inspiration, with pompoms, laser cut stationery, ribbons and candy, but today I want to tell you all about the flowers!

{the centrepiece}

The centrepiece for the shoot was an incredible rainbow table runner created by the fabulous  William Clarke Flowers.  I asked William to create a piece with real w0w-factor, fading from yellow, orange and red, to pink, lilac and purple. All the colours of the rainbow! I set the table with complimentary table settings, coloured napkins coordinated with the flowers, stationery and ribbons for a simple but effective look.

Yellow bouquet: Yellow Dahlia, Yellow freesia, Craspedia and yellow illios roses complimented with lime green alchemilla.

Orange bouquet: Orange mango calla lillies, orange ranunculus and orange babe spray rose complimented with oak leaves and rosehips.

Red bouquet: Red hypericum berries, grand prix red roses, red dahlia and red calla lily complimented with ming fern and loops of china grass.

You can recreate this look for your wedding in so many ways! Create the same effect as the runner with smaller, block coloured arrangements, placed along a long reception table.  If your venue has circular tables, why not theme each table with a different colour? Or, for a more relaxed look use multicoloured arrangements in mismatched vases and bottles.  Speak to your florist for more ideas!

Louise

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
