WEDDINGS

supplier spotlight: b.inspired by cakes by krishanthi

Happy Friday lovely ones. Today is an especially good day, it’s my birthday!! And what better way to celebrate than cake?!

This is not just any cake, but deliciously distinctive and handmade with love cake, from Cakes by Krishanthi.  The lovely Krishanthi produces cakes with a passion for baking and natural creativity.  Combining traditional and unusual flavours, including fruitcake with ginger and spices, mocha espresso, and my favourite dark chocolate torte – yum, with artistic designs and detail.  Offering a classic collection as well as bespoke designs, Krishanthi ensures each cake is delightfully different and tailor-made to suit your wedding style.

With so many different designs to choose from, putting this post together was so much fun! I often say the cake is the centrepiece to your wedding, where you can bring together all your ideas in one piece that your guests can enjoy all through the day (not just when they eat it!).  Never has this been truer than today, with each of these cakes inspiring it’s very own unique and beautiful theme! Prepare to b.inspired?!

Let’s start with ‘Anemone’, combining pale, romantic pink with a strong hit of black.  This colour combination always reminds me of old cameo’s, timeless romance that works well with a clean palette and modern twist.  Taking the lead from the amazing anemone sugar flowers, a bouquet of pink anemones with their striking black centre creates a beautiful contrast with the brides elegant white dress.  The cameo motif repeated in the stationery and details, and even used as a seal to the favour boxes (got to love Martha Stewart for this pretty place setting idea!) ensures the romance never fades throughout the day.

The cute and quirky ‘Owl’ design, displayed on a log cake stand (so cool!) is the perfect partner for a woodland wedding.  Weave a subtle bird theme into the details, think birds nests filled with eggs doubling up as escort cards and a (yummy!) favour, and a cute bird stamp on the stationery.  Wild flower details, think Midsummer Night’s Dream, in the hair and bouquets add another whimsical touch.  I would so love to see an outdoor wedding reception, set under the trees on rustic old tables and chairs, with fairy lights for added twinkle.

And the cherry on this beautifully iced cake (sorry!!) just has to be ‘Petal’ which inspired this pretty as-a-picture, cherry blossom themed board.  This is just pure springtime romance, the delicate, almost translucent pink petals cascading down the cake, cherry blossom flowers in the bouquet and in overflowing, elegant table arrangements.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
