supplier spotlight: fabulous photographers {behind the lens}

Good morning gorgeous ones! I have an extra special treat for you this morning, a supplier spotlight with a twist!

Back in April, wedding photographer & b.loved sponsor Carey Sheffield got in touch with me to tell me about a shoot she was busy organising at the stunning Wotton House, Dorking.  WIth a background in organising weddings and events, Carey’s skill and talent really shines through in coming up with a unique concept, and executing it perfectly. Carey loves to make people look and, more importantly, feel good about the photo’s she takes, and what better way to do this than capturing the unique style and personalities of a group of gorgeous ladies!

The concept was sparked by a question posed to Carey about posing group shots, and she came up with the fabulous idea of showcasing her style by photographing a group of fabulous ladies.  Not just any ladies, but a group of 11 beautiful female photographers, who are more used to being behind the lens than in front of it!  This was their chance to shine, and I know they have all been waiting patiently for this feature to do just that. Enjoy ladies!

The aim of the shoot was to capture this stunning group shot.  Inspired by the photography style of world renowned photographer, Annie Leibovitz, it just oozes glamour and personality with it’s Vanity Fair tones.

For ladies usually capturing the excitement and pampering of a wedding day, this was a unique opportunity for them to experience the excitement for themselves.  A group of girls excitedly chatting about what they were going to wear, forging friendships, and deciding how their hair and makeup was done to express their individuality within the wider group setting.  It’s also a unique opportunity for you, as brides, to get to know the personality and style of each of these wonderful photographers a little better.  When choosing your wedding photographer it’s so important to choose someone who not only shoots photo’s you love, but whose style is similar to your own!

Each lady was paired with the persona of a celebrity, to help get them into character for the group shot, as well as an inspiration for their individual style. Dresses provided by Wilden Bride, Maids To MeasureEncore and  at No 10. Bridal, were chosen to suit each girl of all different shapes and sizes, and accessorised with fabulous jewellery and headpieces from Olivier Laudus, Tom French , and Victoria Mary Vintage.   A team of talented makeup artists and hair stylists also worked their magic to enusre each girl looked, and felt a million dollars.

Here’s a little bit more about each of our model photographers ~

London wedding photographer Laura Babb‘s style was based on the vivacious and bubbly screen siren Marylin Monroe.  We love Laura’s quirky creative shooting style!

Kat Forsyth was styled on Drew Barrymore, her kooky personality and sense of fun really shine through! Kat shoots in a natural, fun and fresh style, just like her!

London-based photographer Kat Hill has the elegant and modern sense of style of Maggie Q.  Kat’s work is fresh and contemporary, and oh so pretty, I can’t wait to showcase some on b.loved soon :)

Wedding and lifestyle photographer Fiona Kelly‘s look was of course inspired by our favourite red-head, Nicole Kidman.  Her easy going and natural style makes her one of b.loved’s favourite photographers!

Portrait and lifestyle photographer Cary Smart has a talent is for capturing the natural beauty of her subjects, her style was based on natural beauty Naomi Watts.

Victoria Holmes is a family, children & newborn photographer who loves to capture priceless images of families for them to treasure.  Her look was inspired by the fresh-faced Clare Danes.

The adorable Sarah Stone specialises in maternity and baby photography, her sweet, unobtrosive style capturing those precious first moments.  Her look was styled on the equally cute Sienna Miller.

Larissa Joice of Giggleicious Photography was styled on the eponymous Liza Minelli, a classic striking beauty. Larissa’s photography captures beauty in equally stunning style.

With a look inspired by the stunning Joanna Whalley, wedding photographer Katherine Peachey of Peachey Photography‘s  relaxed and natural personality comes across in her photography style.

Portrait and boudoir photographer Jeanette Lendon was styled on the gorgeous Claire Sweeney, with her bubbly personality she loves to capture beautiful images of women and make them feel special.

Wedding photographer Carla Thomas‘ look was based on Taraji P Henson (of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button fame), she shoots who who are, not what you look like, with her natural personality and reportage style.

And a few of those gorgeous details ~

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
