The Art of Styling Workshop
Styled shoots. Love them or hate them, they are an essential part of promoting your wedding business, building supplier relationships and showcasing your talents!
I directed my first styled shoot just a few months into my blogging journey back in 2011, and I absolutely loved bringing my creative ideas together and working with others. But it didn’t get published. I know that many of you have found yourself in the same situation; investing time and money into shoots that keep getting rejection after rejection from your favourite bloggers and publishers.
Since my first shoot I’ve learnt how to create shoots that capture the B.LOVED style, offer readers something fresh, unique and elegant and that editors love to share. My shoots now receive multiple features in some of the world’s most highly regarded wedding publications, including Conde Nast Brides, You & Your Wedding, White Magazine, Magnolia Rouge & more. I get to work with the best suppliers and inspire brides to push boundaries with their wedding design. All while getting the B.LOVED name out there, helping me to create partnerships with brands who love our style and ethos so that we can share more exclusive content with our readers.
Here at B.LOVED HQ we receive hundreds of styled shoot submissions, and sadly we have to reject more than we accept. It’s a job Catharine and I hate, but it’s a necessary part of curating a trend-led and style conscious publication. And we also get asked on a daily basis what’s going wrong?
SECRETS OF A STYLIST
To answer all your questions, I’m delighted to be hosting my first solo styling workshop, The Art of Styling Workshop, at the B.LOVED Hive on Wednesday 10th May 2017. A chance to learn the secrets I’ve discovered over the past six years curating and styling shoots, this workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to create styled shoots. Shoots that editors and brides will love, that get published multiple times, and help increase visibility of your business to the right brides.
The morning will be dedicated to the process of creating a styled shoot, from concept design to sourcing suppliers and on the day styling. Plus I’ll be sharing my top tips and industry insights to help you create shoots that editors will love!
We’ll spend the afternoon in a hands-on styling session with me, where we’ll work as a team to bring to life a trend-led concept incorporating bridal styling, tablescape design, flatlays and detail shots.
The Art of Styling Workshop is a full-day workshop hosted at the B.LOVED Hive in London. We’ll provide everything you need throughout the day including all course materials, a beautifully styled lunch for attendees, delicious refreshments and an exclusive stylist’s treat to take away.
You will work in teams to curate and style a shoot with a team of top suppliers, including flowers by Bo Boutique, dresses & accessories from Luella’s Bridal and stationery by Oh Wonder Calligraphy. Our shoot will be captured by Hannah Duffy Photography and featured on B.LOVED blog before the images will be available for you to use in your own website and portfolio (within 6-8 weeks).
Not only does this workshop provide you with the opportunity to learn the secrets to styling successful shoots, but you’ll also get to meet a host of fellow planners, stylists and creatives, building new relationships and friendships. And of course, it will be beautiful too!
Tickets cost £395 and places are limited to 10 attendees to ensure an intimate experience. Use the code STYLINGOFFER to get £100 off the ticket price when booking before midnight on Monday 1st May 2017.
