The Colour Clash Issue: The Decor

Happy Tuesday wedding lovers!  After the success of our latest three Style Guides {check them out here} I am so excited to share our brand new issue!  This month we’ve decided to shake things up and bring you all the inspiration in three easy-to-follow posts, The Decor, The Fashion and The Details which you’ll find right here every Tuesday!

The Colour Clash Issue is a celebration of all things BOLD.  A palette of radiant orchid, fuchsia and coral packs a real punch, and celebrates the move towards bright, colourful palettes in 2014.  If you’re choosing a bright colour palette for your wedding, don’t be shy! Pick 2 or 3 main colours and a couple of lighter accents to really make them pop.  A hint of metallic gold adds a real touch of glamour too!

Styling this table was so much fun! I started with a statement backdrop using paper streamers from Peach Blossom – backdrops are a great way to create an impact and this is a really simple and inexpensive option! Hanging this behind your top table would definitely ensure all eyes are on you!  Multi-colour ribbons jazz up plain white table linen and the backs of simple white chairs, while bright pink napkins add a pop of colour to your place settings – which can all be achieved using your venue’s standard linens, crockery and glassware meaning no expensive hire costs!

Our b.team florist Liz, created a riotous table arrangement using Peach Amaryllis teamed up with coral Tulips, creamy Tuscany and hot pink Poison Roses, delicate tendrils of purple Clematis, white Genista and Majolika spray Roses with a final flourish of cerise pink Peony and fragrant Eucalyptus foliage. Displaying the arrangement in an aubergine footed glass vase keeps the look contemporary, and crucially is just the right height to create a statement without blocking your guests view (and conversation!) throughout the meal!  I also added some clear glass candlesticks with brightly coloured candles which add a beautiful warm glow as the light fades, and tiny metallic vases to add interest at low level.

I used paint-dipped cutlery to add yet more colour.  Recreate yourself using junk shop cutlery simply dip the ends in paint and wait for it to dry before sealing with a non-toxic varnish.  At each setting a mini glass cloche from The Wedding Of My Dreams (topped with a heart – I couldn’t resit the Valentine’s Day twist!) is filled with the juiciest berry-filled macarons by honorary b.teamer Anges De Sucre making the perfect keepsake and favour.

This look is just so much fun, I hope you LOVE it as much as we do!  Join us next Tuesday to see how we styled our Colour Clash bride and maids, I can’t wait to show you!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
