the new england issue: inspiration

Afternoon my loves! I am so excited to be back blogging and after this morning’s round up of 2013, I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the New Year than with some fresh and new inspiration in the shape of our new Style Guide.  This month, the b.team and I have created a sophisticated look inspired by New England style. The cool powder blue colour palette is fresh and new with a touch of peach adding femininity and romance, the perfect choice for January and a complete contrast to the rich and warm colours of Autumn and Winter.  Blue is tipped to be a hot colour trend for 2014 too – I’d love to hear from you if it’s one you’re considering!

This look combines classic style with a nautical twist – think beach house in The Hamptons, although this look works just as well in a beautiful whitewashed barn as on the beach!  Navy accents add depth to the otherwise light and fresh palette, easily introduced with striped ribbons and linen, chic navy bridesmaids dresses and suits for your groomsmen.  There are no hard and fast fashion rules with this look either – you can keep it entirely classic with a simple A-line gown and sweetheart neckline or add a touch of timeless vintage with a lace dress and contemporary back detailing.  It also works perfectly any time of year – add warm blankets and shawls for winter warmth or provide paper fans and parasols for a mid-summer wedding! Perfection.

Learn more about this look in the New England Issue published every Tuesday throughout January!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
