Whimsical Woodland Wedding Inspiration
Good morning lovelies! Today we’ve come over all rustic, with some gorgeous woodland wedding inspiration from Bloom Wedding and Eppel Fotografie. Way back since 2012 one of my trend predictions has been outdoor weddings, it’s been a slow burn (thanks mostly to ridiculous red-tape stuff) but I’m sticking to my guns and saying this is one trend that’s just going to grow and grow! And with the potential to create something like this, why on earth not? Wooden benches draped with moss and laden with tempting treats remind me of a fairytale, with all those red apples Sleeping Beauty perhaps? I love the use of a bright & colourful palette including pink, red, orange and yellow – a vibrant modern take on a traditional Autumnal palette.
I love the changing colours of Autumn and have always thought it’s a beautiful time of year for a wedding inspired by the beauty of nature. A woodland wedding embraces all of these bold, clashing colours of red, orange, pink and yellow. With outdoor weddings becoming more and more popular (and legal in some parts of Europe from 1st January 2014) I wanted to showcase some ideas for this growing trend.
In keeping with the relaxed, informal nature of the theme the dessert table is laden with treats with a rustic look. A naked cake, covered in thin buttercream tempts, while apples on sticks, fresh donuts and cinnamon-spiked hot chocolate await our guests. We included moss, branches, pinecones, fresh fruits and nuts to add to the woods-y feel.
A full tulle-skirted dress, with hints of pink in the underskirt adds a fun, romantic twist to the bridal look. A bohemian floral crown and a pink ribbon sash add a pop of colour. Her hair is softly curled, and pinned under to create a whimsical, relaxed style with soft pink make up used to accentuate her features.
