Amsterdam has long been one of my favourite cities, growing up nearby during my teenage years meant frequent visits to the bustling shopping streets, cruises along the canals and visiting museums.  This city is shedding it’s old reputation, with constant renovation and a huge design talent, it’s one of the most stylish and creative cities in the world – if you know where to look.  The streets running along side the canals are picturesque – and exactly as you imagine. There are endless museums, trendy bars and cafes, some very stylish shopping to be done, and about a billion bicycles. Well, over 600,000 according to the latest estimate!.  Last summer, B.LOVED contributor Claire Graham popped over to the city on a girls weekend with her sister, so this week I get to share her travel inspiration!

Destination: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Who did you travel with? My sister, Louise

Where did you stay? Radison Blu Hotel, Amsterdam. Right in the city centre

What made you pick the destination? I choose Amsterdam because its such a beautiful city, friendly people and a great location of a girls weekend.

What is there to do? We visited the museums (Amsterdam has loads!) and we particularly liked the Bag & Purses Museum. We also enjoyed visiting the Botanic Gardens and the Artis Zoo.

What would be your top packing tips? A camera, comfy clothes and shoes!

Would you visit again? Yes, there is so much to do and we didn’t even scratch the surface.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

I'm also a co-founder at The Brand Studio, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive where I support and nurture wedding pros building industry leading businesses. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
