COLOUR CRUSH: SPRING ZING
If you’re anything like me, you are so over this whole Winter thing and are already floating around in Springtime dresses in your mind.
But while the weather might not quite be playing ball when it comes to the change of season, it doesn’t mean that you can’t start to brighten up your life in anticipation.
Chartreuse is that most fickle of shades, refusing to be pinned down to yellow or green. It sits right on the fence, and can lean towards the yellow or green side quite easily. Also commonly named alongside citrine, sulphur, pistachio, olive… But whatever you call it, I think it makes the best colour for freshening up your interiors or wardrobe. It’s just a little bit more unexpected than sunny yellow or spring green.
The key with this eye popping colour is to pair it with neutrals and let it be the main attraction. Chartreuse is best friends with grey, black, brown, copper, white, beige, and if you want to get really interesting, a soft dusky pink.
If you aren’t blessed with sun kissed skin or a beautiful dark complexion, then keep this colour away from your face or use it in small doses. It’s a myth that us fair girls can’t do bright colour, you just have to avoid drawing attention to your pasty skin and stick to accessories.
The jazzy pattern on this cushion makes it the perfect accent to liven up any sofa. The neutral background will help it to tie in to lots of colour schemes,
Talk about a statement necklace! Chunky faceted beads and a touch of soft pink will see you through from day to night wear.
