CURRENTLY COVETING: OLIVER BONAS SS16
It’s no secret I’m an Oliver Bonas fan, they just seem to get it right every single season! The dresses fit perfectly – whatever your shape and size, tops and knits coordinate perfectly with skirts and jeans, and accessories are all super cute and add a pop of colour to every outfit. Since I attended the Oliver Bonas SS16 press day in January I’ve been (not so patiently) waiting for a few key pieces for my summer wardrobe edit, and now they’re just starting to hit the shelves!
A mix of pastel brights, tropical prints and new neutrals (aka breton stripes!) my favourite pieces are just what the doctor ordered after a dreary, cold winter!
DENIM DRESS
No summer wardrobe is complete without a stylish-yet-practical denim dress! I’ve got last season’s shirt dress, but I can’t wait to add this more summery one to the mix! Shift dresses don’t usually fit me (I’ve that awkward big hips, small shoulders combo, but somehow OB’s designers get the fit of this just right! Jaz Relaxed Denim Shift Dress (£55)
STRIPED TEE
This year stripes are being dubbed the ‘new neutrals’ for their easy-to-wear chic style. Stripes are easily one of my favourite patterns and my wardrobe is full of them, but this lightweight tee has stolen my heart with its pop of neon pink – I just have to have it! Mia Striped Tee (£25)
TRIBAL PRINT DRESS
When it comes to summer workwear, this dress is on point! The tribal print will pep up the safest of corporate wardrobes, while still being office-friendly. The coral belt is a gorgeous on-trend touch, simply add a pair of matching heels to take this through to after-work cocktails! Shira Fit & Flare Dress (£65)
GO-TO KNITWEAR
Spring summer calls for a lightweight knit as an extra layer on chillier spring days and a cute cover up for cooler summer evenings. Grey is my go-to goes-with-everything shade, and this mid-length cardi with exposed seams ticks all the boxes when it comes to the perfect knit! Arcade Exposed Seam Cardigan (£45)
TROPICAL PRINT DRESS
OB are all over cute summer dresses! Bright pastels? Check. Tropical prints? Check. Gorgeous detailing? Check out the back! I can see this is going to be one of my favourite pieces for summer! Kennocha Tropical Flower Midi Dress (£69.50)
STATEMENT NECKLACE
No outfit is complete without a pretty jewel or two, and come summer I tend to ditch my much-loved sparkles for something a bit more chunky. This soft blush and marble effect beauty is totally on trend, and will turn any outfit from drab to fab in an instant! I’ll be pairing mine with the Mia Striped Tee! Pink Chiko Two Row Necklace (£24)
GEO EARRINGS
I’m not the biggest fan of earrings, but I do rather love this cute geo set for pepping up a mostly neutral outfit, or coordinating with something more colourful! Set of Three Moto Earrings (£12)
DAINTY NECKLACE
For those hot summer days when you need something pretty, but don’t feel like lugging around a chunky necklace, this dainty beaded chain is perfect – it adds just the right amount of statement without being OTT! Multi Tuli Trio Beaded Necklace (£14)
THE CLUTCH
To bring it all together a colourful clutch bag picks out the accent shades in each of my wardrobe favourites, whilst being a pretty and practical place for storing all your summer essentials. A girl can never have too many bags, right….?! Yohanna Straw Clutch Bag (£22)
