THE COLOURING CRAZE
Have you noticed the new colouring book trend? Yes, you read that right colouring books – but don’t worry they are for grown ups! There are plenty of different books with different styles popping up and I have The Mindfulness Colouring Book by Emma Farrarons. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks so that I could review this trend and see what it is all about!
Adult colouring books are popping up everywhere now and they are really pretty too! They are a great hobby, let you get the creative juices flowing, you find a sense of achievement and it’s actually really relaxing too! They are said to encourage mindfulness and relaxation for those with busy lives as you concentrate more on what you are actually doing at that very moment, the colour you are choosing, the lines you are attempting to stay between and the progress you are making – instead of thinking about your to-do list and what’s happening tomorrow.
I really noticed this! It truly worked! I’d sit down for ten minutes with my colouring book and a TV program on and I’d feel far more relaxed. It’s also really enjoyable and something you can look forward to – seriously I already have a wish list for my next books I want to try! I was surprised because initially I just thought it was a cute and fun idea to try but it’s something I found I enjoy and have ten minutes of enjoyment.
The Mindfulness Colouring Book is smaller and fits easily into your handbag so is great if you have a long commute. It has a variety of different illustration options inside it too and some are more intricate than others. I’d really recommend this if like me you fancy a go.
There are some super pretty options out there which have really intricate designs, tell a story of have a theme throughout it too – such as; The Secret Garden or Enchanted Forest books by Johanna Basford and Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom and Tropical Wonderland and last but not least is the story book The Time Garden by Daria Song.
