With the hype of Valentine’s Day just around the corner it’s good to remember that we don’t need anything fancy to create special moments with the person that you love – and this printable DIY from BLOVED Contributor indieBerries reminds us of exactly that. Create a special “movie night in” date from the comfort of your own home, just grab our printable and follow the instructions below!

  • Printable template
  • Printer and cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Washi tape
  • A cosy blanket
  • A bottle of your lover’s favourite beverage
  • Your DVD of choice
  • Brown paper bag
  • Popcorn

Download and print the printable on A4 cardstock and cut out each piece individually. For the bottle label, make sure you also cut out the small white circle (which will slip over the neck of the bottle) and also fold the label along the dotted lines.

Grab your cosy blanket and wrap a big ribbon around it – tucking the “let’s cuddle up” card into the ribbon. If you don’t have a ribbon to tie around your blanket, just rest the note on top of your favourite blanket.

Using Washi tape (or regular tape) attach the “Tonight’s Screening” card to your DVD of choice – remember to fill in which DVD you have selected and your reason for selecting it! It could be anything from a movie that you’ve been wanting to watch for ages or a movie that reminds you of your partner, or even the movie that you watched on your first movie date!

Slip the bottle label over the bottle of your choise and fill in the beverage.

What is a movie night without popcorn? We used a brown paper bag cut in half to fill with popcorn – but you could use a regular bowl if you want! Take the “You make my heart pop” labels and attach them to the brown paper bag or popcorn bowl using washi tape. There are two of these labels included in the printable so you could either attach the label to the paper bag as mentioned or create a kind of cupcake topper, by gluing the two sides together with a toothpick in the middle – to spear into a piece of popcorn!

It’s amazing how paying attention to simple little details like this can completely transform your average “couch night” to something really special for a fraction of the cost of an expensive night out! It leaves you with that little bit extra to really spoil your lover this Valentine’s Day – or perhaps splurge on that fancy bottle of perfume you’ve been eyeing out!
