PERSONAL POST: SOFT & STRONG
Around this time every year I sit down to write a personal post about the journey B.LOVED has taken me on in the previous 12 months, and over the past four and a half years I’ve been honoured to have been able to celebrate the successes and joys of working on a business I love in an industry I adore.
This year I’m telling a slightly different story, so please bear with me; it may get emotional.
Back in October, I ventured onto a deserted beach in Northumberland with photographer Melissa Beattie and makeup artist Victoria Farr to embark on a special project celebrating the inner strength, beauty and bravery that as women we all possess.
Why? For that we need to rewind to January 2015
It was all go, go, go; after the launch of the new B.LOVED in late 2014, our team of writers had hit their stride with beautiful Wedding, Lifestyle and Little B posts. We were blessed to be sharing some of the prettiest weddings, shoots and features from the best of the best and I was thrilled to be invited to share my knowledge and passion for styling and blogging at events in Holland, London and Dubai.
After that you might have noticed things at B.LOVED took a bit of a back seat over the Spring and Summer; I separated from my husband and partner of 12 years and needed some time away from the emotional world of weddings.
I’m not going to lie, there were moments when I wondered if I would ever make it back to this beautiful blog, but I’m so glad I took a break. Taking a step back, re-evaluating my personal and business goals, and spending time on myself, has been the best decision I made. Thankfully, I’m blessed with the most incredible team, friends and family who made sure my world (and B.LOVED!) remained filled with love and pretty, and reminded me that I couldn’t give up on the things I adore. I simply couldn’t have come out the other side without them.
And that is why, on a crisp and sunny Autumnal day I ventured onto a deserted beach in Northumberland. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate femininity and freedom than a boudoir shoot in one of my favourite places; the beach. The place where the earth ends and the waves crash on the sand, erasing all that was there just a moment before. It was an emotional and freeing experience and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the beginning of this new and exciting chapter in my life.

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved this year, I’m proud of my team, my industry, my friends & family and everyone who has made B.LOVED what it is today. As we enter our 5th year of blogging there is SO much more to come, the future is looking bright, and I can’t wait to share it with you!!
