Now Easter is over and if like me, with the school holidays it has been a hectic couple of weeks, you might be tempted in to daydreaming about a few days off and a relaxing spa break. Today I’m writing about the stunning Barnsley House a boutique hotel and wedding venue in the heart of the Cotswolds, I have had the pleasure to visit once before. I was invited to be involved in a workshop and photoshoot by the Illuminated Collective which I provided the dresses and accessories for, and attendee Claire Graham took some beautiful behind the scenes photos for us.  You can see the workshop and shoot featured on BLOVED here.

Barnsley House is a beautiful stately home surrounded by exquisite landscaped gardens. Packed with character, it has a contemporary style intertwined with a traditional country charm and furnished to perfection. It encourages complete relaxation, a hidden retreat with a home from home laid back vibe.

During my brief visit, I did manage to take a few minutes away from the shoot for a wander around the inspirational gardens, originally designed by Rosemary Verey. They are stunning and so well maintained, it is a pleasure to be able to explore, find a sunny spot to sit, soak in the surroundings and beautiful scents.

I will be making a few (not so) subtle hints to my husband, as I hope to visit again for some complete R&R and indulge in some treatments at their luxurious spa. Hidden away in the beautiful grounds, at the end of a winding path, Barnsley House spa is a tranquil space and uncompromisingly peaceful. I can’t wait to try out their treatment menu, relax in the herbaceous sauna and take a dip in their hydrotherapy pool.

Barnsley House has its own restaurant, The Potager in the main house and there is a cute country pub just across the road run by the same team. For couples getting married, searching for the idyllic venue, it is perfectly equipped for small intimate weddings or events. All in all Barnsley House is the complete Cotswold location and totally worth a visit, whether for a romantic getaway, spa break or celebration.

I'm addicted to Pinterest and love Instagram. I married my Mr in 2006 and wish these sites had existed when I was planning my wedding. Luckily bridal styling and BLOVED allows me to indulge in creating endless moodboards and continue my search of all things luxe and lovely.

My other passions are home interiors and all things cute and funky for kids, so I love putting the content together for our Lifestyle and LittleB features.
