SHORT HAIR, DON’T CARE!
Having short hair is great, 90% of the time! It’s easy to manage and quick to style every day, but for days when I want something a little bit different it can be a real pain not having the versatility that comes with a bit more length. It was something I worried about when organising my B.LOVED brand shoot with Taylor Barnes Photography earlier this year, but lucky for me hair & makeup artist extraordinaire Tori Harris stepped in with some great ideas for pepping up my look and I loved the results!
When I met up with Louise to take some new headshots I was determined to do something just a little bit different with her cute cropped hairstyle. We decided to go for some subtle waves just to add a little texture and volume to her hair while keeping it natural and still looking like her.
It’s a simple but effective style, here’s a quick how-to guide!
Start by sectioning off the hair into 4 sections.
Taking one inch sections at a time use a wand (I love the Babyliss ones) to gently wave the hair. Keep the thicker part of the wand at the root of the hair and the thinner part toward the ends (angling the wand down away from the root of the hair) for a nice subtle bouncy curl.
Once all the hair is curled use a pin-tail comb to gently backcomb the roots adding natural volume to the hair.
Gently scrunch Bed Head Foxy Curls into the hair to give a natural hold and then finish off with a light dusting of hair spray!
