Call me crazy, but I have a thing about storage.  I hate clutter – whether it’s in the office, at my dressing table or in the living room I like my surroundings to be neat and tidy. But working from home, with co-working days, shoots and boxes of samples and loans arriving almost every day sometimes it can seem like a never-ending battle!  I’m sure lots of you feel the same – especially if you have kids as I’m well aware their belongings multiply at an alarming rate!  With my beloved home currently on the market, keeping the place tidy has become a daily obsession, so I thought I’d share some of the most stylish storage solutions I’ve found to keep my house in order with you.

If you’re lucky enough to have a hallway in your home, you’ll know it can quickly become a dumping ground.  My main problem here is piles of post – so I’ve invested in a this modern letter tray from Ikea to keep my mail neat and tidy, but easily to hand when I need to find it!

I love to cook, but my kitchen doesn’t get a lot of use right now – when it does however, it’s usually for my next coffee fix! Whether I’m working from home alone, or have a studio full of people on a shoot I always have my coffee station set up and ready to go.  I’d love to have space for a dedicated coffee cart – this one from Oliver Bonas is definitely on the wish list!

Ok ladies, let’s talk about shoes.  If you’re anything like me you have more than a few dozen pairs chucked in the bottom of your closet, and when you think about how much they cost, that’s pretty sad.  So I say unleash the shoes and put them on display! Keep it pretty by using a bookcase – plus by having every pair visible in your dressing area, you’ll not just always be able to find your favourite pair, but might just rediscover some old ones too!

Bottles, jars, lotions and potions quickly make this room a clutter zone.  Here my top tip is baskets – they hold lots of stuff and can quickly transform your bathroom into that spa-like oasis you’ve always dreamed of! I love these tribal weave baskets from West Elm!

My office is full of little bits and pieces I’ve collected over the years for shoots and features.  I have an unhealthy obsession with scraps of ribbon, stickers and fabric that seem to get dumped in a big pile on my desk so a proper storage solution here is a necessity.  Boxes are the best solution, and I’m leaning towards these clear boxes from John Lewis so I can see exactly what I have at a glance.

We all know kids come with a lot of junk essential kit, from toys and clothes to a never-ending pile of books! Keep them in (almost) pristine condition with a simple shelving solution – Ikea’s photo ledges are the perfect space-saving and stylish solution that will grow with your child!
