THE JUMPSUIT EDIT
A couple of weeks ago I had an event to attend. Now, you might not think this is a big thing, but it is, especially when 90% of your business happens online. Suddenly, the thought of being in a room surrounded by fellow industry Goddesses will throw you into a state of panic and the rather clichéd “what will I wear” question starts to tap it’s impatient foot, as you stare blankly into your stuffed closet.
It was an afternoon affair where there would be bubbles and canapés and civilised conversation. How do you pull off chic in the middle of the day without looking a little… ummm… overdressed!?
I’m also rather partial to an elasticated waist these days as you will have read in my previous style posts, so there was NO WAY I would be donning a dress, unless it resembled some sort of sack. But that wouldn’t do.
So step in the trusty jumpsuit…
I’ve only recently (probably the last year) started wearing jumpsuits. I know they’ve been big news for a while but, to be honest, they frightened the hell outta me, mostly because I’m not a twig. I have curves in all the usual places and on a very good day I’m a size 10 and on a bad day, I’m really, really NOT a size 10. So let’s just say I’m very average shall we…? Anyhoo, a poorly cut jumpsuit does nothing for a girls confidence, so it’s taken a while for me to find the right fit, so to speak.
Back to the event; I seemed to recall I had worn another (black) jumpsuit the previous year, so when a fellow party goer commented that I always looked “chic” I gave my trusty jumpsuit a pat and thought, we’ve pulled it off.
So, with this little tale in mind, I wanted to share my love for the all-in-one with you… here’s six jumpsuits for all occasions!
