TRAVEL INSPIRATION: PAPHOS
Earlier this year photographer Maxeen decided to take her photography business travelling, and set herself the challenge of visiting every country in Europe. Over the past 6 months she has managed to tick 10 countries off her list, starting Cyprus in June and finishing in Spain earlier this month. You can follow Maxeens’s journey of self-discovery on her blog Courage & Curls, but we are super thrilled to be sharing her travel photography exclusively on B.LOVED and with sea, sun and sand a plenty she’s sure to keep us inspired through the cold winter months! This week we’re going back to the beginning, and heading to the beautiful Paphos.
Destination: Paphos, Cyprus
Travel Time: Approximately 3.5 hours, direct from London
WHAT TO DO
Doing one of the sight-seeing tours is a must! Try to find one that combines going through the mountains in a 4×4 with a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. Getting to swim there was the highlight of my trip.
If you are looking for a more relaxed day, visit Suite 48 where you can lounge on a four poster bed and have cocktails delivered to you while you soak up the sun.
WHERE TO EAT
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Cyprus. Usually when I travel I find myself in pretty rustic and traditional places, but Cyprus was different. If you are not the kind of person who wants to try Cypriot mezzo platters, you will be pleased to hear that you can find any number of restaurants catering everything from pizza to Chinese all over Paphos so you won’t find it hard to find something you like.
HOW TO GET AROUND
There are buses you can use to get around Paphos, along with various sight-seeing tours you can do. However, if you want to explore the island more on your own, renting a car is definitely worth it as there are various wine routes and coffee shops that you could explore.
WHAT TO PACK
You will definitely need to pack sun block, moisturiser, bikinis, sandals and something pretty to wear on nights out.
WOULD YOU GO AGAIN?
Yes! There are parts of the island that I didn’t get to see, like Nicosia. So I would definitely go back to explore some more.
