TRAVEL: VASTO, ITALY
I’m off on my summer holiday in less than 48 hours, and I cannot wait for some sun, sea and sand becuase let’s face it the UK summer has been pretty disappointing so far! To get us all in the mood, today we’re hopping over the the beautiful town of Vasto with B.LOVED Contributor Maxeen Kim. Italy is all about the landscape, rustic beauty and of course the food – including it’s famous Gelato!
Destination: Vasto, Italy
Travel time: 2.5 hour flight + 30 minute drive
Time of year: September
Reason for travelling: I had flown to Italy to shoot a wedding with a photographer friend of mine, Roberta Facchini.
WHERE TO STAY: Whilst in Vasto, Roberta and I stayed with her parents in their lovely campervan. It was a fantastic experience as I had been dying to camp in Italy for ages.
WHAT TO DO: Vasto is so beautiful. You can walk it and you should. There’s an unending amount of pretty streets and old, yet beautiful buildings to explore – and they have some pretty delicious gelato too. In Italy it’s all about the Gelato!
Depending on where you stay (as we were camping) you would need a car to get into Vasto. But if you are staying in the city, walking is a great way to get around and enjoy the architecture and the good weather.
WHAT TO PACK: If you are going in summer, pack sun block, flip-flops and a few pretty dresses.
ANYTHING ELSE? The beaches in the area are stunning and definitely worth a visit too.
ARE YOU GOING BACK? Yes, most definitely!
