CUTE & COSY KIDSWEAR

The chill in the air, blackberries in the hedgerow and leaves slowly changing from green to amber can only mean one thing… Autumn has well and truly arrived. This transition gets me especially excited; the cosy knitwear, the winter boots, the new coat! Of course, I’m not talking about my own wardrobe (despite that being well overdue an overhaul), but the smallest person in my life’s capsule collection.

I’ve come to learn that little people don’t need a lot. Instead, I invest in wearable and classic items that are easily mixed and matched with inexpensive, throwaway fashion pieces. The key to a successful capsule wardrobe is versatile pieces you really love, and I don’t change my philosophy just because I’m shopping for my daughter. It is easy to get carried away, and sometimes a purchase fuelled by a very hasty love story is a non-negotiable, but I still always try to have the basics in place, which those impulse buys can layer on top of. I’ve pulled together a few of the key items which will make up Bertie’s autumn wardrobe, from the blouse, bloomers and basics, to gorgeous knits, a dreamy dress and, of course, the classic Breton tee, in the hope you may be inspired to try out the capsule collection for the children in your life. Just remember, it may not look a lot, but almost all of the items can be mixed and matched, creating lots of different, and lovely outfits! Just click the pics to shop!

Life has changed rather drastically recently, but I couldn’t be any happier. As well as content writing, and raising my beautiful daughter Bertie, I am the co-founder of a homewares collection with Coco & Wolf – all a very far cry from my pre-family, successful career in fashion. Creative pursuits, long country walks, a hot cup of tea and our home filled with fresh flowers will all put a smile on my face.
