DIY: PRETTY PASTEL MASON JARS
If you are looking for the something fun (and a little bit messy!) to do with your little ones this weekend, how about this pretty pastel mason jar project? Painting some mason jars is a fun and simple DIY that can be done in just a few hours, and when they’re done you can use them in so many ways around the home, to pretty up a desk as a pencil pot, storage for all those tiny toys boys seem to collect (and you’re always treading on!), or to dispay cake pops or treats at your next kiddies party!
YOU WILL NEED:
Clear chalkboard paint
Nail file or sand paper
Start out with a plain mason jar.
Apply one coat of chalkboard paint using a foam paint brush. The chalkboard paint helps to give the jars a chalky finish.
Once the chalkboard paint is dry, your ready to start painting.
With your chosen colour, apply two coats of paint.
As soon as they are completely dry, grab your nail file or sandpaper and lightly sand across the surface of the words on the jar.
Now you can decorate your jars as you want, I tied some white string around the top but you could always add some glitter or stickers.
These jars are so easy and super cute! A pretty and inexpensive home or event décor.
