Fleur’s First Birthday Party filled with Pink and Swans

Fleur’s first birthday party is filled with beautiful colours and fun details! Inspired by the lovely swan and floral details from her Nursery, Rebecca K Events, ( Fleur’s Mother ) created the cutest party for both family guests and little Fleur to enjoy. Here is Rebecca to tell us all about it; “A lot of people think it is silly to go all out for a one year old birthday, well, I disagree. We baptised our little girl Fleur, the same day as her birthday party. We live in London and because our family is abroad {from Seattle to Holland}, it was a great reason to all get together and celebrate with our friends, family and little ones.

Being an event planner as a profession, planning parties is something I LOVE to do! I also think that celebrating keeping this little lady happy and alive for one year was a reason for me and my husband to celebrate! Creating memories and having fun are something I find so important! No matter how over the top, big or small, you should always celebrate! My daughters name is Fleur, and her nursery has a lot of swan and flower touches. When it come to plan her birthday I thought that was a perfect idea to carry through. Celebrating a one year old little girl with a mix of flowers and swan was pretty and fun. Swans are known for the beauty and gracefulness as a bird, so why not tie that into one year of celebrating our little daughters life….with lots of sparkle, pink and flowers!

I did not want to go over the top so I added little memorable touches where I could. We hired a nearby pub in North London {fancy, a castle!} and created a huge balloon backdrop for the dessert table. I had the amazing Emma Block create a crest that I incorporated throughout the party, from the invite to the cups, napkins and hung up a sign {which now hangs in her room}. I incorporated swan and flower cookies, cakes and cupcakes which the kids LOVED. I had a lady come and provide a music class for the kids which, along with personalised calligraphy balloons {what child doesn’t love a balloon} the kids were so excited about, while the parents, with a glass of bubbles in hand….so enjoyed as well.

Gyan Gurung was there to capture the party and he was amazing. He took every families photo which I sent to them in a thank you card as a gift, as so many people do not take family portraits! Along with singing, eating cookies and lots of cake {that was rose flavoured and amazing!} it was certainly a wonderful way to celebrate the first year of our little Fleur!”
