A Luxurious Mother-Daughter Shoot
Michaela Klose came up with a beautiful mother-daughter inspired shoot. The shoot tells the story of pure love between a mother-bride and her daughter.
After the mother-daughter duo arrive at the idyllic garden of the Morrhof, they wander through the decorated tables and admire the decadent wedding cake and sweets. Morrhof provides an elegant setting for mother and daughter to playfully discover the gorgeous blooms and luxuriate in the late summer sun, before waiting for the afternoon festivities to commence.
Michaela Klose impeccably captures grace, innocence and maternal love as the two discover the twists and turns of the gorgeous garden.
The vision was of understated luxury, where old-world luxuries are combined with modern classics. This is evidenced by how effortlessly antique silver accents and silverware are combined with glass vases and porcelain figurines. The bride’s outfit also merges modern lines with timeless and sophisticated style.
Sandra Nymphius created a stunning white gown with refined grace and a delicate flowing drape. The daughter’s dress was created with a similar silhouette and material, in the top part of the dress, while the bottom part looked like a frilly child’s skirt – young, playful and perfect for a flower girl.
White with hints of pastel was chosen to represent the warmth of the last days of summer and the coolness of the first days of fall. In order to not lose depth, metallic elements and deeper tones of the same colour palette were included in the flowers, cake and other décor.
Floral Design and Key Details
Fioritura Floral created marvellous floral arrangements using whimsical, floaty blooms like Queen Anne’s lace and chocolate cosmos mixed with classical garden favorites such as hydrangea, clematis and garden roses. The arrangements included natural yet dramatic shapes that blended harmoniously with the surrounding garden setting.
The tablescape was adorned with exotic floral designs in both small and large vases. Naschwerk und Co baked a simple watercolour wedding cake with a touch of extravagance which was topped with fruit and edible flowers. They also provided a variety of incredible desserts for the sweets table such as cupcakes, macaroons and pastries.
Other key elements were the stationery by Bonjour Paper and intricate detailing such as using identical seals on the cupcakes as well as for the wedding invitations. Every aspect of this shoot from its feminine hues and delicate details to the classic backdrop emphasized the theme of subtle luxury.
Tips to Create this Mother-Daughter Look
- Pay attention to intricate details but also add large statement elements. For example, the floral arrangements on the table were divided into numerous small and different vases but also included a larger showstopping arrangement in a big vase, shaped as a women’s head.
- Mix the old with the new. In the shoot, antique silver cutlery and porcelain was elegantly combined with modern fine art linen and glass vases for an unique charm.
- Don’t hesitate to try something new! Working on a mother-daughter insipred shoot was something new for most of the vendors involved in this shoot. But the outcome was worth it – involving kids creates an authentic, relaxed and familial vibe which expands the focus from the typical groom / bride combo.
