Even the hardest of hearts soften at the sight of a newborn. Those perfect fingers and toes, squishy arms and legs and the cutest of cheeks are completely irresistable! With newborn shoots becoming an essential for new parents we absolutely love to share them – the cutest features on B.LOVED without doubt! When wedding photographer Anushé Low had baby Sohana last year, naturally she grabbed her camera and captured those all-too-fleeting features of her new daughter, and her new family, at just one week old.
From Anushé –
I’m a wedding photographer, so there was no need to book a shoot for Sohana. I naturally had a very specific way in which I wanted to document her at this stage. I’m not big on props and fashioning tiny babies into strange foetal positions…I’m always after very natural photos when I shoot. Like all my photography I wanted to keep the shoot simple, bright and soft with a clean, neutral backdrop so all the focus is on the subject…beautiful little baby Sohana! I also wanted to capture her little feet and hands, and possibly some of the facial expressions she had at this young age. As I have an older child, I know how quickly it all goes and how important it is to preserve these memories through photographs!
What does being a mother mean to you? I must admit I was never a broody person, ever! I kind of new I always wanted a family imaging a noisy and fun home life but it was always a rather abstract thought far from my actual reality until a crazy moment one June when randomly I said, ‘lets have a baby!’. Sohana is or second child and being a mother to both Milen and Sohana is probably my greatest achievement ever :) It’s an incredible privilege to be a mother and I’m grateful every day.
What are you most looking forward to as she grows up? I’m looking forward to finding out who she is as her personality unfolds as she grows. She’s already a very different little baby to her older brother so we’re intrigued to see what kind of little person she’ll be! Her brother is a calm, relaxed, easy-going little boy so I’m hedging my bets that Sohana will be a fiery, feisty crazy little girl!
