#122: Summer Sparkle
Happy Bank Holiday my loves! I hope you’ve all been having a lovely weekend, at least the sunshine has decided to join us today! I’ve been holed up working on the next couple of week’s pretty content, looking at some gorgeous submissions and working on the next two b.team projects. Keep your eyes peeled for an exciting announcement soon!
Despite the rain, this week I’m feeling summery and romantic with this oh-so-dreamy blush & grey palette. For a fairy-tale wedding this palette is a modern classic, with just the right amount of sparkle to take the overall look from girly to glamorous. Although this is the kind of look that transcends seasons, the ultimate time of year for this combination is early summer, when blousy peonies and David Austin roses are in bloom. Paired with peach and ivory hued dahlias and spray roses, and a few gorgeous silver brunia berries this look takes on a whole new level of sophistication. A little sparkle is a must for any wedding, and here it takes the look through from a relaxed summer garden party to elegant evening do with ease. Floating drapes add a whimsical touch as they float in the warm breeze, while mercury glass, mirrored surfaces and glitter add reflection and shimmer. This palette requires a light touch, too much glitter and the whole thing becomes too bling, too much pink and it looses the grown-up feel. Get it just right and you’re on to a total winner!! Pass me the sparkly shoes!
