#160: all that glitters

orange, gold, glitter wedding colour palette

Morning lovely ones!  After a somewhat disappointing weekend (hello British summer!) today I’m pumping up the colour with this bright & breezy inspiration board.  Long-time b.loved readers will know I have a bit of a crush on orange weddings, not least because my own wedding back in 2011 featured this love-it-or-hate-it hue!  It’s not a colour I’d pick often, but with the right setting and the right balance of colours (in this case lashings of gold glitter – you can’t go wrong!) this somewhat scary shade can result in a rather gorgeous w-day look. And yes, I do say so myself.

On a hot summer’s day welcome guests with a refreshing citrus cocktail, before sitting in the sunshine for a gorgeous outdoor ceremony decorated with warm red, orange and pink blooms.  Poppies, proteas, roses and dahlia’s are all available in this colour palette – add a few succulents and some silvery green foliage to break up the colour.  The trend for sparkle isn’t going anywhere soon – so embrace the glitter with golden linens, bridesmaids dresses and details!  You don’t need a hot Californian desert or African sunshine to make this colour palette work; a late summer’s day here in the UK will suffice!  Add heaps of fairylights for a warm, romantic glow, then sit back and relax as they do their job transforming your venue into a shimmering, golden masterpiece!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
