#167: Fall for Florals
Morning my loves! Well wasn’t it lovely for the sunshine to make a guest appearance over the weekend? Today officially marks the start of Autumn but we’re not quite ready for cosy cashmere and long boots yet, and neither is the floral world! While Spring brings pale pastels and Summer bright shades of pinks and peach, September is the perfect month for embracing a warmer palette without the traditional bronze, ochre and golds we’d usually associate with the season. Giant dahlia’s, chrysanthemum’s and late summer roses are at their best this time of year, so you can still get that soft romantic feel.
So for this week’s inspiration board we’re embracing the last of the florals, in rich, bright orange, coral and red tones. How about a floral wall, created by simply using washi tape to affix flower heads to a plain wall? It makes the prettiest ceremony or top table backdrop! Wrap blousy bouquets with wide silk ribbons left trailing and fluttering in the breeze. A touch of lace works wonders – add to your tables for a delicate detail or tie to chair backs with coordinating ribbons to match your bouquets. Make a statement with the bride and groom chairs by picking a statement colour (totally adoring this hot orange beauty!) and adorn with flowers. Oh, and seed packets make the perfect favour! Your guests can plant them in the Spring and watch them flourish as your love grows ever stronger.
