Part 2: 2017 Bridal Fashion Trend Report by Luella’s

We hope you enjoyed our first part of our Bridal Fashion Trend Report which looked at the Boho Luxe and Paradise looks! Today we are showing you three amazing styles – the Romantic, the Minimalist and the Modern! Let’s begin with the Minimalist look –

This style is all about understated dressing and ensuring that everyone gets to see the real you. Think simple style dresses and accessories and subtle hair and makeup.

Key Trends & Dress Styles
The dresses we chose are really simple in design with minuscule amounts of detailing. They are a mixture of figure hugging silk designs and fuller flowing chiffon dresses.

Sally Eagle – Audrey

Luella’s – Zara

Gwendolynne – Belinda

Accessories and shoes
We decided to introduce a metallic theme to this look, using a mixture of chains in shades of gold, dark silver and copper in the hair. It is possible to buy chain hair ties, but an easy alternative is to use necklaces and bracelets to create the same look.

Hair and Makeup
We continued the metallic theme through into the makeup using subtle gold hints on the cheeks and eyes. We also chose to keep the hair very simple, opting for a slicked back ponytail and a natural afro look.

This style is all about timeless beauty and creating a feeling of romance at your wedding. Think fuller skirts, longer trains, classic jewellery and soft natural looking hair and makeup.

Key Trends & Dress Styles
The three dresses we chose for this look were much more ornate including; stunning embroidery, beautiful lace and floral appliqués. The fuller floaty skirts help to give this look a more whimsical feel, without being overly traditional. We also chose styles with plunging necklines and cut out panels, to give this look a slightly more modern edge.

Limor Rosen – Aria

Shanna Melville – Poppy

Sally Eagle – Genevieve

We selected more classical types of accessories for this look including; silk  flower pins and hair vines, pearl drop earrings, and an original vintage ring.

Hair and Makeup

We wanted to keep everything about this look soft and ethereal looking so we included loose wavy hairstyles, with delicate natural looking makeup and dramatic lashes to add to the innocence of this style.

The modern style is all about daring to be different. Think non-traditional outfit choices, bold statement accessories and striking makeup.

Key Trends & Dress Styles
We have chosen three bold looks for brides that really want to make a wedding statement that is bang up to date; with Aztec style lace, dropped hem skirts, crop tops and trouser suits.

 Limor Rosen – Rosemary

VeredGaladi – Ballerina

Limor Rosen – Louisa

Accessories and shoes
We chose a fairly simple selection of accessories and shoes using one key accessory to define each look. We also embraced the trend for mismatched earrings and chose to incorporate one of this year’s interiors trends, marble which is slowly finding its way onto the catwalk. A bright blue ribbon hair tie, a dazzling diamante hair comb and gold strappy sandals complete this chic, contemporary look.

Hair and Makeup
We wanted to inject some colour into this look and to show you that it is possible to be brave with colour whilst still looking like a bride. For this we chose a bold blue eye shadow and a bright pink eye liner with matching rose tinted lips. We chose two slicked back hair styles, with a side parting to give this look a sleek, effortless style.

Rachel Atwell

I was inspired to open Luella's Bridal following my own wedding in 2005. With a busy career, very little time to visit lots of wedding shops and seven bridesmaids to dress, I longed for a place where I could view everything we needed at the same time. Today Luella's strives to offer brides an incredible, assortment of truly individual items and we continue to ensure that we are offering an exclusive selection of beautiful wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses and accessories that have been meticulously sourced from all over the world.
