A FUN AND CLASSIC ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
You may remember that earlier in the year we shared the opportunity to win an engagement shoot courtesy of the fabulous Kate Cullen Creative Styling and Design, and husband and wife team Bowtie and Belle Photography. That’s quite the package, not only did our winning couple get the chance to capture beautiful memories, they had experts on hand to make sure they looked chic, stylish and had fun throughout.
We are delighted to share the results of the photo shoot with the winning couple, Hayley and Toby, today.
Engagement shoots are something that too often gets overlooked in wedding preparations, it can be seen as a bit self indulgent, particularly by the camera shy. But actually, that’s exactly who engagement shoots are perfect for. It gives you the chance to get to know your photographer and feel more relaxed in their company, and equally your photographer can get a better idea of how you ‘are’ together as a couple and how you feel in front the camera – which will make your photos on the day even more incredible.
But I digress, here is Hayley and Toby’s beautiful photoshoot. It’s oozing with love and fun…and I totally want Hayley’s dress! And the car…
Over to Kate Cullen to tell you all about it.
Hayley and Toby were the winners of our competition to win a styled engagement shoot with fabulous husband and wife team Bowtie and Belle Photography. We were immediately drawn to their engagement story – a rather amusing tale of courage through adversity (the weather was not particularly kind!) to reach Arthur’s Seat near Edinburgh.
As Hayley posted: ‘After nearly 8 years together, we spent a week exploring Edinburgh as a post birthday get away. Climbing the tallest hill in gale-force wind, snow and hail was worth it when at the very top, Toby proposed as the sun came out’.
After a styling consultation with them over a glass of wine, we came to the conclusion that a shoot outdoors with the benefit of an open top classic car would be the way forward (and we crossed our fingers for better weather than the day of their engagement).
Thankfully the rain stopped just as we headed up onto Minchinhampton Common, and Hayley and Toby enjoyed a few laps around the common in a stunning Morgan provided by Richard Thorne Classic Cars.
The wonderful Stacey at Updoo had done such a fabulous job on Hayley’s hair that it still looked perfect even when it was time to head home – perhaps helped a little by a last minute decision on my part to paint Hayley a blue silk hair scarf to match her beautiful engagement ring (designed by Toby nonetheless) and the blue interior of the car.
We wish Hayley and Toby every happiness for their wedding in Cheltenham in December (and of course some clear skies!).
