I’m going to let you into a secret about my wedding dress; I wanted to buy it from the highstreet.  Sadly, four years ago there wasn’t much choice and when picking up one particular frock all the beading fell off – right in front of my horrified mum who was already unconvinced!  I’m so pleased to say since then the choice – and quality – of wedding dresses available from some of our most-loved brands has improved muchly!  So I was rather excited to be invited to a press view of the new Phase Eight Bridal Collection from last week, with photographer Claire Graham.

You don’t have to be a bride on a budget to go highstreet – think of it this way… a little saving on the dress could go a long way towards those extra flowers, luxury stationery or pair of I’m-gonna-wear-them-a-zillion-times Jimmy Choos!

With seven brand new designs, three best-sellers and a newly-extended range of bridesmaids dresses I was delighted to find styles to suit all shapes, styles – and budgets.  The very sweet ‘Sally‘ features duchesse satin in a cute prom style with overlaid tulle available in ivory and blush pink is priced at just £250, while at the other end of the scale the twenties-inspired ‘Hope‘ features shimmering beads and sequins with a beautifully flattering embellished waist at just £595. In fact the most expensive dress in the collection ‘Keira‘, featuring Phase Eight’s signature tapework with subtle embellishment and beading only comes in at £750! Brides looking to switch up their look can add a coloured satin sash, pair of coloured or plain bridal shoes or an on-trend cape to complete their outfit, so you can easily get your whole W-Day outfit for under £1000.  There’s also a beautiful range of bridemaids dresses, lots of which would make stylish choices for the Mother of the Bride too!

As well as viewing the new collection, sipping champagne and delicious canapés (it’s a tough life, being a blogger!) illustrator Alexa Coe was on hand to create gorgeous portraits of all the attendees.  I adore this girl’s sweet style, with a fashion twist it was the perfect treat to take away at the end of the evening.

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
