An Alluring Tuscan Villa Wedding

The Story: The vision for this romantic villa wedding shoot came from the desire to combine history, beauty and nature in the picturesque hills of Tuscany. The creative team wanted to achieve an elegant and timeless style with a modern feel by incorporating unusual flower combinations with refined table setting to deliver a one of a kind wedding experience.

The Location: Villa La Commenda Concordia, Italy. Located one hour’s drive from Florence, this historic villa is situated in the breathtaking Mugello Valley. The gorgeous villa, including its frescos, have been restored to all their glory and a family of peacocks roam around the exquisite gardens. This venue welcomes children aged 12 and over and can be rented for special occasions like weddings.

The Vibe: An intimate, elegant celebration in a magnificent location. This wedding is about getting swept away in the moment. From the pretty stationery suite to the sophisticated tablescape, there is a gentle beauty that is synonymous with love and romance.

The Details: The main inspiration for this shoot was the delicate pink colour palette. Different hues of soft pink and blush were layered with earthy decor elements and natural flowers. Some touches of orange, hints of green and pops of purple were added for contrast. Anthea Studio are passionate about finding and incorporating natural and local elements in their beautiful floral installations. They used a beautiful bunch of hops for both the table decor and a stunning floral cloud installed inside the villa. Clematis vitalba, figs, pumpkins, grapes, roses, celosia and white pepper completed the whimsical floral arrangement on the table.

Tips & Highlights:

  • Contrast and balance is critical when working with a colour-based theme for your event, such as the use of pink in this shoot.
  • For a budget-friendly local feel, consider whether there are any location florals that can be foraged for your arrangements. In the early hours, Anthea Studio went for long walks in the hills surrounding the villa to gather natural and earthy elements that could be incorporated into their arrangements and came back with a true bounty.
  • Use local elements to highlight the beauty of the location. In this case, peacock feathers were collected from the property and were incorporated into the flat lays and table arrangements.
