An Illuminating Wedding Weekend in Provence

The Story: This shoot was part of an annual fine art photography workshop run by Christophe Serrano in the South of France. The concept of this year’s workshop was lavender in homage to the stunning lavender fields of Provence. Christophe and his team also wanted to honour the “illuminating” shade of yellow which was Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2021. This combination of lavender and lemon is reminiscent of traditional Provençal tablecloths.

The Location: The Mas d’Avrieux is a stunning property which offers a reception area for weddings, luxe rustic accommodation and a swimming pool. It’s located in idyllic surroundings near other villages (e.g. Tarascon, Les Baux de Provence and Gordes) which guests can discover at their leisure.

The Vibe: Rustic Provençal charm for the perfect wedding weekend. This shoot was all about enjoying the abundance that Provence has to offer and celebrates all things local. Gorgeous accommodation, chic but accessible décor and world class food, wine and produce.

The Details:  Pièces Uniques Location sourced unique dishes, accessories and décor which created an undeniably Provençal feel. The bride and groom were also dressed by local suppliers including Accord Parfait. For their beauty needs, Sophie Gayler from Inexis Studio, an eco-engaged hairdressing salon in Toulon, was on hand to work her magic.

  • If you are considering a wedding weekend, choose a well located venue that has the necessary amenities to keep you and your guests occupied. If it’s a summer wedding, a pool is a must.
  • Don’t be afraid to incorporate colours into your wedding theme especially where they are a nostalgic and symbolic nod to something.
  • Check out the local purveyors to find some sweet treats to offer your guests. This can add some local charm to your celebration.
