Antique French Château Wedding
The Story: A romantic wedding at a historic château in the French countryside for the classic couple. Immersed in pretty pastels, cascading blooms and filled with natural light, this is one for lovers of art, culture and all the pretty things.
The Location: Château de Frœschwiller was built in 1890 and is located in the Bas-Rhin, Alsace region of France. Both inside and out, its design is characteristic of the glamour that we associate with classic European architecture.
The Vibe: Some yearn for big bold and glitzy ceremonies. Other brides dream of a beautiful, timeless occasion, which makes them feel like a princess from a storybook. This ceremony is definitely one for the latter type of bride. It features an uncompromising classically French vintage style, and we can’t get enough of it.
The Details: This type of detailing takes your breath away. The idea of this design was to provide a modern take on an antique ambience, for glamorous brides who aren’t into glitz and sequins. The grandeur of the location was combined with pure and simple florals and decor. The colour palette was kept minimal and was inspired by the historic venue.
- Don’t spoil the magic of the space by overdoing it. If your space is grand, opt for simple decor touches.
- Instead of a dense floral decoration, using fewer and more distinctive flowers provides a tasteful, modern finish.
- The venue’s living room was used as a communal space. This kept the bride and groom in the centre of the activity, and within easy reach of all their guests.
