The Art of Styling Workshop: Muted + Minimalist Wedding

With minimal styling and muted colour palettes gracing the most stylish of wedding blogs and magazines, I created this shoot for The Art of Styling Workshop in London to combine these two current trends into a beautiful concept that I’m sure will inspire many 2018 couples! The palette is features romantic neutrals in shades of pink and peach with hints of blue and mint against a backdrop of cool whites and greys. This most romantic of palettes has been given a contemporary twist with concrete and mixed metallics, while touches of foliage add the perfect amount of lush green to balance out the cooler shades.

The geometric floral hanging backdrop, created by Emma Soulsby Flowers, creates a stunning, contemporary focal point behind the tablescape. Pink Masters chairs from Wedhead continue the colour theme beyond the tabletop. Crisp white linen, stoneware tableware and elegant glassware from Prezola let the simple design stand out. I’m particularly in love with the vellum calligraphy placecards by Merrie + Bright, with a subtle painted brushstroke hinting at the gorgeousness provided from the on-trend cake, created by Blossom and Crumb in the same perfectly pretty shades.

I chose to keep the bridal look clean and minimal too, with a simple sleek ponytail and super soft and peachy makeup, created by the talented Mari of Chase Makeup, with a hint of iridescence keeping this classic look modern and fresh.. The dress, Elsie from the new in-house collection at Luella’s Bridal combines effortless chic and contemporary style, while Charlotte Mills ‘April’ shoes are the perfect something blue!

After a decade-long career in corporate interior design, I took a giant leap of faith, left the security of an office job, and founded B.LOVED in 2011 as a platform for romantic and beautiful wedding inspiration. Thanks to a whole lot of creativity, hard work and passion, my gamble paid off and B.LOVED became one of the leading wedding blogs in the UK.

You’ll also find me working as an Editorial Stylist, where I design and curate beautiful photoshoots for wedding and lifestyle brands, as well as contributing as a founding member of bridal inspiration hub Aisle Society, and running wedding industry community the B.LOVED Hive from our super pretty base in London. Yep, I definitely have the best job in the world.
